A federal case on freedom of speech took place on September 16, 2011 in Hartford, Connecticut. Hal turner wrote online take up arms and put piling this tyranny by force and that public officials should obey the Constitution or die. The public was outraged by his words. Turner went to speak to and the jurors said that what he said was appalling but he wasnt planning on hurting anyone, he was on the button speaking his mind. plurality that knew him said he wasnt a person they would like to do anything with outside of work, but he wouldnt go out of his way to harm anyone. He likes to speak his mind. The 1st Amendment states Congress shall make no righteousness respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the deal peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. By law, people are allowed to say what they want as dour as it does not conflict with other peoples rights. The statement that Turner said wasnt a panic according to the jurors that took part in this case.



Although Turner didnt bring down any charges put on him in the Connecticut case, he was charged before in Illinois after putting addresses of 3 judges home addresses on a public website aspect he wanted to harm them and they should be killed. Two juries were inefficient to reach a verdict in the Illinois case, but Turner was convicted in a third audition. He is doing his sentence promptly in federal prison for the Illinois case he was convicted in.
I believe that Turner should have been convicted in the Connecticut trial because he had multiple charges of the same thing just a little earlier. He is dangerous to society and Turner need to be in jail for as long as possible so he can learn something from his punishment.
