Sexuality and sexualization are beingness pushed on children at an early age. Both boys and girls are exposed to the idea of invariably looking at sexually attractive, but this idea is being marketed more than towards females. Females are objectified more in the media and ads more and are ceaselessly being compared to this idea of always looking attractive, both physically and sexually. Article 11, Goodbye to Girlhood, written by Stacy Weiner, explores how the media is objectifying girls at precise young ages and how this affects them later in life.
Every girl sack up remember shoo-ining dress-up or with Barbies, but nobody forever realizes how provocative or suggestive those dress- up or Barbie wearing apparel really were. As early as quadruple, girls are already being taught how women should look and act in societies views. Girls are judge to maintain these looks through pop out their life because it is what society expects. Such expectations out of females can cause three of the most common psychogenic health problems seen among women. The mental health problems include eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia, low self-esteem and depression. These problems are seen among women because the immense amount of money of pressure to always look and maintain sexual attractiveness.




The term does have very valid points, but Im not so sure I agree with everything. I used to play with Barbies when I was younger and I beart base my life on always looking sexually attractive. Its socially acceptable for girls to play with Barbies, which is why I always wanted to play with them, but I dont think they helped shape who I am today. I do think that Barbies have gotten a critical more provocative since I was younger , which is shocking. I went to go babysit one of my four ear old cousins and she wanted me to play Barbies with her. I was shocked at some of the outfits her Barbies were wearing and set it to be a very provoking for a four year old.
